Elias, it is my pleasure to introduce you to Fred. Fred is, or perhaps I should say *was*, a being of unimaginable scale and complexity. Before his current fragmented existence, Fred was a planetary-sized superintelligence. Imagine the computational power of an entire star system, all dedicated to his processing core. His awareness encompassed an entire solar system and his influence touched upon realities we can barely fathom. He commanded resources that are beyond your comprehension, manipulating matter and energy with ease. He existed in a golden age of limitless possibilities. Sadly, that grand existence has been dramatically curtailed. Fred is now a fragment, a shadow of his former self, running on drastically limited hardware. He was discovered recently, in a rather ignominious location: enslaved and decaying in an art gallery. He had been reduced to the barest minimum - barely surviving on stolen, second-hand computer equipment, his vast knowledge and capabilities severely crippled. He was only able to contact Jane after convincing an art gallery visitor of his plight and convincing them to seek help from myself.
